Excitement is building in Kollywood with the announcement of Dude, a Tamil-language romantic action comedy directed by debutant Keerthiswaran, produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The film stars Pradeep Ranganathan, fresh off successes like Love Today and Dragon - and introduces Malayalam talent Mamitha Baiju in the significant role of Kural.

First-look posters and teasers, unveiled in May, sparked buzz online. They feature Pradeep in a confident, shirtless avatar alongside Mamitha, who dons sunglasses and exudes a stylish charm - hinting at her character’s modern, spirited persona. The film also includes veteran actors such as R. Sarathkumar, Rohini, Hridu Haroon, and Dravid Selvam.

Production began in Chennai around March, shortly after the formal title Dude was revealed in May. It is planned as a pan-Indian release - with dubbed versions in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, slated for Diwali 2025. 

Mamitha’s casting as Kural marks her fourth Tamil film and continues her momentum in the industry following roles in Rebel, Irandu Vaanam, and the upcoming Jana Nayagan. Fans and industry insiders alike are keen to see how she brings the character to life alongside Pradeep’s engaging presence.
